TREASURY OF WISDOM – PRESERVING THE TEACHINGS
Help us to preserve the teachings by sponsoring the digitising of old audio and videotapes containing unique and precious recordings of great masters who taught in the West
Ever since Buddhism made its way to the West in the seventies, students around the world have recorded teachings of many masters such as Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche and Sogyal Rinpoche.
These precious teachings were recorded on audio and videotapes which are naturally subject to decline. So, to keep these delicate recordings safe was a big challenge.
In the beginning of 2024 the team has completed the digitisation of 2,630 video and 9,559 audio tapes which is around 13,504 hours of teachings. This means most of the official teachings from the audio archive is now complete.
There are still 1,800 audio tapes left, from centres around the world, to check, compare, and where necessary, digitise. This process will most likely take until the end of 2025.
