Lerab Ling offers a unique opportunity to sponsor your onsite accommodation, thereby supporting our infrastructure while enjoying numerous benefits.

Thanks to your sponsorship, your accommodation is guaranteed during your stays at Lerab Ling, which is a valuable asset during high‑attendance events.

WHY SPONSOR AN ACCOMMODATION?

The sponsorship programme began more than 30 years ago in order to host the first retreat at Lerab Ling, and it has continued to grow so as to offer as many people as possible the opportunity to stay on site during events and retreats.

Sogyal Rinpoche always wished that Lerab Ling could offer a wide range of accommodation and facilities, making it an exceptional place for practice.

All of our on‑site accommodation exists thanks solely to the generosity of sponsors!

Being accommodated on site has a special flavour: it allows you to deepen your study and practice considerably by simplifying daily tasks (such as transport or meal preparation), which limits potential distractions and allows you to immerse yourself more fully into your retreat.

SUPPORTING LERAB LING

Sponsoring accommodation is a wonderful way to contribute to the development and prosperity of the Dharma at Lerab Ling for many years to come.

It makes it possible for Lerab Ling to plan developments and ensure our long‑term viability.

It helps maintain the grounds, the accommodation, and Lerab Ling as a whole.

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

When you are a sponsor:

  • You have priority when booking your accommodation: for the most popular events, you receive early notification so you can book before registration is open to everyone.
  • You enjoy flexible use through a points system that allows you to use the accommodation for 56 to 92 days during which time you pay only a daily contribution for running costs.
  • Sponsorship rates come with an attractive discount based on accommodation public prices — ranging from 15% to 30% depending on the length of your commitment. The longer you sponsor, the more you save!
  • Your accommodation rate remains stable until the end of your sponsorship period: by paying your usage fee upfront, you benefit from the rates in effect at the time the agreement is signed, for the 10, 15, or 20 years your sponsorship lasts, and you are not subject to the usual price increases.
  • You can choose a co‑sponsor who can also benefit from the sponsorship.
  • Your children also benefit from the sponsorship up to the age of 26, with attractive rates for younger ones!

ACCOMMODATION

  • Wooden Cabins
    Perched on the heights of Lerab Ling, the wooden cabins are ideal for a peaceful stay in a natural setting. Mainly available from Spring to Autumn, they can be shared with family or friends. During winter, we might upgrade your accommodation to a retreat room as the cabins are usually closed.
  • Retreat Rooms
    Close to the temple and the dining hall, the retreat rooms are available all year round, with shared bathroom facilities. This is the ideal option for those who prefer to be nearer the heart of the site.
  • Retreat Studios
    1. Sponsor a studio that’s available now. 

2. Pre‑sponsor from now on for 10, 15 years or more, at the current sponsorship rates, with an additional 6% discount*.

At the beginning of 2031, the majority of the studios will reach the end of their current sponsorship period and will once again be available for sponsorship. Sponsoring ahead of time will enable Lerab Ling to prepare for this transition and plan for the future. Doing so you can:

  • Pay in 5 installments, with the sponsorship starting on 1 January 2031.
  • Be sure to have a studio in 2031 and choose your studio in advance.
  • Benefit right away from priority booking for your accommodation during major events (in a studio or, if none are available, in another type of accommodation depending on current sponsors’ occupancy).
  • Benefit from the current sponsorship price: Lock in today’s sponsorship rate instead of the one that will apply in 2031. Since sponsorship prices are indexed to the public accommodation rates, they will not be impacted by any future accommodation price increases.

HOW TO PROCEED

  1. Contact us: send us an email at sponsor.accommodation@rigpa.org to express your interest.
  2. Fill in the form that we will send you to finalise your sponsorship.
  3. Choose your payment method: you can pay the full amount after a 14‑day cooling‑off period, or choose to pay in two instalments. Payment facilities may be considered.
