ART'TIBET CHAM SEM

A not-for-profit humanitarian association that supports both lay and religious Tibetan communities in Tibet and the Himalayan region

Arttibet 2The association is held by a team of volunteers and its running costs are entirely covered by the sales from our Boutique which allows the full amount of donations to be sent directly to the recipient communities. Art’Tibet is not involved in any political activities. Founded in 2001, Art'Tibet oversees four projects:

  • The boarding school at Manali, Northern India hosts 290 children, boys and girls in equal numbers during ten months a year. The boarding school provides free education for the children who are all coming from very poor families.
  • The financing of a 3-year professional nurse training course for two young girls, who are graduates from Manali school.
  • Chokling Rinpoche’s and Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche’s nunnery in Tibet, in the Kham region which was founded by the tertön Chogyur Lingpa. The nunnery houses 40 nuns, some of who are on the solitary retreat since 2005 when our association started to support them. The nuns are holding and practising regular drupchens of Vajrasattva, Vajrakilaya, Kurukulla and Tara.
  • Arttibet 1The medical clinic in Bir, Northern India provides medical care for the entire population of this refugee village including 3,000 monastics of eight monasteries and 6,000 Tibetans and Indians.

Since 2015 Art’Tibet is supporting the clinic with the aim to improve its health care facilities which include the renovation of the surgeries, construction of a surgery unit, purchase of medical equipment as well as further training for the medical staff. More information: www.art-tibet.org

SPONSOR A WOODEN CABIN

... and always have a place on site for any event you choose

It is hard to believe that it is almost 10 years since Lerab Ling completed building its cosy, eco-friendly, sustainable and well-loved wooden cabins, enabling more people to stay on site during events or do personal retreats.

At the time, all cabins were generously sponsored by Rigpa students from all over the world for the duration of 10 years and now their contracts are coming to an end. Although many have indicated they would like to renew their sponsorship, from this summer onwards and the next few years, some cabins will become available for new sponsors.

THE ADVANTAGE OF SPONSORING A WOODEN CABIN FOR YOU ARE: CABIN bed pic WEB

  • You are always sure to have a place on site in Lerab Ling for any event you choose.
  • While accommodation prices will go up in the next few years, the costs for your cabin is fixed (no inflation) for the duration of your sponsorship.
  • As cabins are closed in the winter, you are automatically upgraded to a retreat room during the winter period.
  • You can name a person to share the points of your cabin with.
  • You have up to 56 days per year at the sponsor rate for single occupancy and 92 days if you share your cabin.

HOW YOU WOULD SUPPORT LERAB LING

Since the beginning of the sponsorship programme more than 30 years ago, Lerab Ling has been extending its capacity to offer more people the possibility to stay on site during events and for personal retreats. We now have over 200 rooms (300 beds) in Lerab Ling thanks to the generosity of the sangha. New sponsors will financially support us in the proper maintenance of all its housing, sanitary blocks and infrastructure.

The cost of your sponsorship is based on the current costs of €34 per night minus 25% reduction which will be fixed for:

  • 3 years at €4,500
  • 5 years at €7,000
  • 10 years at €14,000
