Opening our Hearts and Minds

Retreat for children and teenagers - How to become friends with ourselves and others .

We welcome children and teenagers (6-13 yrs and 14-17 yrs) to this retreat.

In this retreat, children will explore how to gently open their hearts and minds through short moments of mindfulness, and by becoming aware of their bodies and feelings. Through meditation and loving kindness practice we will learn how to become friends with our thoughts and emotions and open up to others around us.

Essential values such as compassion and wisdom are illustrated through short films, videos, role play, interactive exercises, discussion groups and stories. Every day the young people make the most of the beautiful environment of Lerab Ling through outdoor activities, discovering nature, free play and time simply to have fun with each other.

Teenager retreat

This event is the main teenager retreat of this summer (previously called teenager shedra)

In the teenager retreat, an explorative approach to our hearts and minds is central. Together, we will engage in interactive and creative workshops, group discussions and guided meditation and compassion practices to investigate what is at play in our inner lives. We will also explore ways in which we might be able to work with ourselves so that we can cultivate a more open and kind attitude to our lives.

There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy the environment of Lerab Ling through fun activities and time to hang out together. In addition, teens are also very welcome to propose topics and activities they are interested in throughout the programme, so that they play an active role in tailoring the programme to their interests and wishes.

If there are not enough registrations for this event then we will not hold a full Rigpé Yeshe programme. There will be a simpler childcare service.
